This is a small Droplet Application that will convert your web server side imagemaps into client side imagemaps.
Instructions for Installation
Get a copy of UserLand Frontier™. I got my copy of Frontier from: http://www.scripting.com/
Double click on the "OHIO.init" file. Answer "Yes" when Frontier asks you if you want to replace the existing object. Command-S to save the Frontier.root. ( This is needed to get around a small bug in Frontier. ) You only need to do this step during installation.
Instructions for Use
If Frontier is not running Double-Click on the Frontier application.
Drag and drop files or folders onto the file called "AMapMap". It will only try to convert files with the suffix of ".map".
AMapMap will then lauch and show the shareware screen. If you have paid your shareware fee and give me your email address, I will email you a copy that doesn't show this screen. Click run to start things going.
AMapMap will then ask for a string for the target parameter. The target is used for browsers that support targets. See the instructions for your browser for more information on targets.
AMapMap will then ask for a file name and a location for where you want to save the output map file.
[Tip: AMapMap will also try to place the output map file text onto the clipboard. You can paste this directly into your HTML document without having to open the output document.]
ShareWare
AMapMap is shareware. This means that after evaluating it for a maximum time of two weeks, you are required to pay to continue using it.
The price that I am asking for AMapMap is US$15. The money goes to the "Jon Needs a Computer at Home Fund."
Please send your payment, either as a money order or a cheque to:
Clear Ink
2540 Camino Diablo, Suite 203

If you have problems, email me with the error, a copy of your original map file and the output file if available. I will do my best to help although, I cannot promise anything or a quick response time. Please include the word "AMapMap" in the subject of the message.
- Changed the way that map files are read and parsed. Before it was a line at a time, now it is all at once.
- Added code to put the output text on the clipboard.
- Added HTML code to the top of the output, including the semi-prebuilt <IMG> tag.
- Added "default" mapping support. If you have the default line in the original map file, AMapMap will use that
to create a special RECT area at the end of the map file. You then need to fill in the WIDTH and HEIGHT values for the image.
- Created a Frontier CGI interface. (see URL at top of document)
